If there are no other factors that could be causing these symptoms...dirty litter, a lot of feed dust, cold damp conditions, I would say you would need to step up to the Tylan 50. I haven't had to use it myself so I can't give you the dosage with out looking it up. Casportpony should have this info or you could do a search on BYC. Dawg53 is another with this info at his fingertips.

The problem with antibiotics that you mix in the water is that there is no guarantee that your bird will drink enough for it to be effective. To add insult to injury, doing this *can* cause the bacteria to become resistant to that antibiotic. Since sick birds usually aren't drinking enough, I *always* medicate orally.

If I were you, I would consider using Baytril (banned for use in food animals) or Tylan 50. With either, you'll have to get a digital kitchen scale (see my avatar) and weigh your chick.

They all have clean litter, in a warm environment, maybe a little dust. I will look for those 2 antibiotics at the feed store today and give orally. Thanks for the advice, I will update all of you on any progress :)

They won't have Baytril, but they should have Tylan in the cattle section.
