For a mild case of IB, 5 days is the recommended dosing. Your poor little guy was way beyond that and could possibly have MG. I would try the 7 days and see if he is showing real improvement. If by the 5th day he is still symptomatic it may be time to think about another antibiotic rather than go for the 14 day treatment. You will have to judge this or post more pictures of the eyes and ask then.i thought it was funny the lady told me 5 days but i would think she knows what shes talking about. ill start it again for 7 days if that dont work then ill do the 14 days. his eyes look way better from what they were. he is also nice and healthy
I know Casportpony, but there are still papers out there saying that for IB it's a five day course. I really wish they'd update them or lose them, lol. For any illness I really do think it is better to err on the side of caution and continue the Duramycin for the 7-14 days. Tetracycline is a great drug if used properly to eradicate the bacteria. I just don't see a 5 day course doing this. Maybe it works in a lab but not in the field, at least not in my experiences. The only two antibiotics I have ever given for 5 days are Baytril and Metronidazole, all others have been 10-14 days.
IB is Avian infectious bronchitiswhat is ib and mg?
