Chick with two infected eyes used terramycin and now worse, need help asap

Another thing you can use if you have nothing else is a plain old tea bag. Wet it with warm water and use it to wipe around the eye and as a compress you hold on it for a few minutes. Chamomile tea is great but Green or Black tea will work as well. The tea has some antibactirial properties in it and it will soothe the eye as well.

im just going to get the duramycin and continue with the neosporin. The neosporin kept the eyes pretty clear but didnt clear it up. Hopefully that and the neosporin will clear this up. The chick i dont know the sex i just call it a he. It shakes his head everytime I pick it up because it does not like treatment :), do you think that is ok?

ok i will put him back in with the others. I was worried they did this to him! i was not sure which.I will treat them all tonight

I think the neosporin is fine for now on the outside but think about trying the tea bags to clean it off of the eyes. It can't hurt and it may just add in something to help. One thing, make sure the neosporin you are using doesn't have lidocane in it. Just read the ingredients and make sure it has nothing with the 'cane' on the end of it, lol. The head shaking is probably the fluid building from the infection and causing pressure it's trying to relieve.

he shakes his head to tell me no... i got the medicine and im mixing it now

Hes eating good and drinking the medicine water. Im crossing my fingers this works. He is just to cute.

I am so glad to hear this. Hopefully it was caught in time and it will go away in a few days. Keep giving the meds for the proper time. You wouldn't want this to come back because you stopped too soon. Good luck!

i called durvet they said to give it to them for 5 days. his eyes look so much better. a little clear discharge. i do have him separated but put the other of his kind in with him to keep him company. i have two white pullets that peck him quite a bit. i am medicating them all. he seems to be happier from the rest. my one jersey giant is nice to him so i put him in the other bin to mix it up a bit.
