I’ve decided that I’m focusing on line breeding my gray silkies. I have a few young paint silkies that I hatched this fall but I’ll reevaluate them in the fall to see if I do both varieties.

I thought Javas were black.
That's sad how you lost your boys. I can't imagine chasing a chicken around in the woods for 2 hours.
They have 3 varieties black, mottled, auburn and I think white. It sucked to chase him but i’m glad he had a good home until he passed he came from a poor environment he didn’t even have a coop to sleep in.

I'll be creating a line of Muff GameFowl that doesn't fight. Non-Fighting Muff GameFowl.
My Cockerels for my Project is a: Black Copper Maran/GameFowl crossView attachment 1990799 and an EE.View attachment 1990802The Pullets for the project are Red JungleFowl.View attachment 1990803View attachment 1990807 There's only 2 Red JungleFowl pullets.

I may add black sumatra to the line later on, or a different type of game.
Sumatra’s would be beautiful to add!

This is one of my (hopefully) olive egger pullets her mother was a blue copper Marans (named Midge) she past over the summer not sure why but I was able to hatch 3 eggs from her and all 3 are pullets:love Midge truly was an angel. I black to breed her back to my black copper Marans rooster. (easter eggers are an addictive breed)

Cool.
It's always nice to help animals in need. I hope your Java breeding goes well, if you're still continuing.

That Smokey blue is a stunning color. I have a Cuckoo EE pullet who lays huge pink eggs with white Speckles. I have a picture of her egg, but not her yet.
