Yeah, same.... I wouldn’t be able to live with just 3 chickens. I would be ordering chicks the next day for sure!

I’m sure she will be fine for a week. But you do need more chickens. Out of curiosity, why do you have only one? And how big is the coop? I would recommend having a total of 3, that ways if one passes/gets sick, they will have each other.

Yeah, that’s pretty small. I would say get 2-3 more chicks for that size coop

I have a friend that gives away full grown chickens. How many chickens should I keep in the coop. Along with my other chicken.

Could you measure the house, in feet by feet? (Excluding nesting boxes) Including the run, nesting boxes, and house, it is 6’ by 3’ approximately.
Meaning 18 square feet total. The house should be 2’ by 4’, 3’ by 3’ (for extra wiggle room) or 4’ by 4’ (so you could have 4 chickens) (but ist obviously not that)

Is the current chicken the black australorp? Yes, you can mix breeds if that’s what your asking. (I have a flock of 13 chickens, all different breeds)
