Tender green babies
I desire to devour you
Fence my nemesis!
My free range garden
No more can you know freedom
The chickens consume
Not Haiku... more Doctor Seuss, it’s not very good.
Fence in this,
Fence in that,
Fence out all the Putty-Tats.
Fence in her,
Fence in him,
Fence around the Peep-A-Lots.
Here a fence,
There a fence,
A fence for Planty-Poos.
A fence for who?
A fence for you!
And you and you too!
Big fence,
small fence,
short fence,
tall fence.
long fence,
wide fence.
Wood fence,
metal fence,
bamboo fence,
black fence,
green fence,
orange fence,
Below a fence,
Above a fence.
Keep out Dig-Alots and Swoop-Ems.
A fence for who?
A fence for you!
And you and you too!
No matter what they do
I’ve put a fence there too!
A fence to keep out Take-A-Ways and Look-A-Loos too!
First it was fencing to protect the house from trespassers and just to have a dog latter. Then it was for an area for chickens and other pets... then to protect the garden plants from chickens, the fences in the ground to protect plant roots from gophers, then barriers to prevent predators burrowing under the chicken pen, then layers of fencing when other people’s dogs scaled the original fence to kill the chickens, ducks, and bunnies... and now fencing above to protect from hawks... fences here, fences there, fences everywhere...
