Chicken has loopey eyes. Is it a respiratory infection?

Does anyone know what caused this? I have pics below and is there any way to heal it?

Yes, it appears it's a respiratory infection or at the very least, an eye infection. The easiest way to treat it is to flush the eye with saline eye wash and put Neosporin in the eye twice a day until it clears up.

If the symptoms get worse, though, you will need to treat the chicken with an antibiotic called Tylan 50. You should be able to get it online. It's an injectible med, but most often we give it orally at .1ml per pound of body weight, twice a day for five days.

This could be caused by a mild strain of Mycoplasma Gallisepticum (MG), which also goes by the name of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD). Since this is a chick, she could’ve gotten some dirt or dust in the eye, but the swelling is what concerns me that it’s most likely caused by the MG bacteria. Wether you choose to keep and treat them for the rest of their lives or cull- please do NOT ever breed from these sick birds! MG can be vertically spread through the eggs from the infected parent birds, making any chicks that hatch, already sick with the bacteria. All birds are permanent lifelong chronic carriers, there is no cure for MG.
