I have 6 chickens, raised them from chicks from the feed store starting last February. 2 RIR, 2 Orps, 2 Americaunas.
Things had been going along extremely well often getting 6 eggs a day.
One of the Americaunas was not on the top roost with the others two days ago which I thought was odd. Everything else was otherwise normal. Tonight I went out to close the coop door and found one of the Americaunas dead on the coop floor. The other Americauna was in the coop, and all the others were huddled outside the coop in the rain.
There was no apparent trauma or injury. All the others appear healthy and unharmed as well. The only hint seems to be one slightly bloody poop, which based on the poop chart doesn't seem to be abnormal.
What should I do?
Very concerned that something may rip through the flock.
