Chicken impaled lower bill on hook, just found her hanging

The S hook is what she was impaled on- it would probably have been safer if it hit the ground then just hanging open, as it apparently was. I'm going to get the carabiners and spring hook latches for everything from now on. Thanks!

The ones I use look like this, they are very thick, and short, and it would be nearly impossible to get impaled on one. MUCH thicker than the wire on a suet feeder. These are almost as big around as the birds eyeball.
