Chicken killed a mouse!

Ugh, mine killed three sparrows this Winter. Poor things were just trying to get shelter from the snow and mistook the perches for a safe place to rest.

Just one more reason to upgrade the wire in our run this Spring.

OMG! I thought I had the only killer hens. Two of my commercial hybrids found a mouse and ripped it to bits. Eugh! Ate the lot. Feet, teeth fur after they chased each other round the garden for the biggest bit. Gross.

Several years ago, I had a mouse in the chicken feeder (one of those big, tube, gravity feeders) so I got the cat, she caught the mouse, and the next thing I knew, those chickens were chasing that poor cat all around the coop trying to steal her mouse! One finally got it away from her (or the cat gave up, I'm not sure which), and then SHE got chased by the flock! Apparently mice are delicacies to chickens....
