Chicken laying a broken egg!i

I'd add some oyster shell. They may be so calcium deficient that the shells are very thin and break when in the process of being laid. It may be normal for a bird to clean up a broken egg to keep the nest clean, maybe others will be able to confirm or correct that theory.

For chickens breaking and eating eggs, I put mustard in the broken shell. They don't like the taste and my flock has learned to not break their eggs.

but sometimes the egg id normal shelled...

Oyster shell is not at all the same thing as grit. Grit is small insoluble stones that the chicken eats. They stay in the gizzard to grind the bird's food. Oyster shell is soluble chunks made of oyster shell. The bird eats them, and they actually dissolve in the chicken's gut to provide her with much needed calcium to build strong egg shells, as well as maintain other bodily functions. A good supply of calcium in the diet will prevent the chicken's body from stealing that calcium from her bones.
