Chicken math prevailed!

Unfortunately, my fence install was rescheduled for next week. But it actually worked out, because I had a chance to modify my final yard plan. Gonna have a 700sq ft yard for the main flock (attached to 8x8 coop and 7x7 rooster apartment), a minimum 70sq ft breeding/broody/quarantine yard with 6 hen coop (the old TSC one), and room for a 300sqft growout pen and small coop for my "for sale" birds to be built in Spring. Plus big wooden lounge chair, compost pile, earthworm/soldier fly farm, climbing roses for the fence...:love:celebrate:wee

No new chicks of course, BUT I already have my friend Kim (an SOP Marans breeder) looking out for some nice Red Mottled and BC Marans pullets for me. AND a fellow Backyard Chickener offered me a pair of rare Brahma cockerels, a Partridge and a Buff Lace. AND I'm going to the York County (PA) Poultry Fanciers' Show in October, and who knows what I might find there? (Hopefully not all Bantams!) AND my BCM, Pella, is hiding eggs so resolutely that I've decided to let her brood them after the move. 1/2 Jersey Giant, 1/2 BCM! YAY!!:yesss:

Warming up in the bullpen, Chicken Mathematicians!

@VictoriaTemple, Roger, in all his overheated glory. He was sitting right next to me, just watching me while I told him he was a good boy.

And of course.. Ya know... The tiny dog was on chicken patrol this morning. We had an escapee and she was all over it. Herded that wild chicken right back into her proper run space. IMG_0804.jpg

IMG_0820.jpg A few of the pretties. After everyone decided it was time to make a run for it to the tall grass where all the good seeds and non-chewed blades of grass are. Bertha to the left looks just glowing. Overheated chicken there, too.

And my lone BSL.. IMG_0817.jpg If not for Nevermore getting grabbed, there would be two. Nevermore was older. So, this is Nevermore Part Deux.

Yeh, but I bet ya I got some other addicts twitchin'...mahahaha

You're so wrong for this....... *twitches*

Really, my TSC has EE's for $0.75 and I'm struggling to not go up there tomorrow. They're closed now so it's safe for the night. Tried to talk my friend into splitting 3/3 with me but no dice. The roof for our permanent coop will be in probably this weekend or the beginning of next week.....
