Chicken "mutt" club!!!

Pics
I dont care what I have... I dont mind mixes. They are just for fun!! I just took the comment as not so nice lol. In think they are cool looking chickens. =]

I don't have any pictures of my mutt but she is a silkie×barred rock×blue polish cross thing. She ia roughly 4 months and still the size of a young chick, age has the polish head crest but silkie feathers and took her cross breed mothers small size gene and is itty bitty. She has blue feather with whitish faded barred rock pattern. She also has purple pink skin.....she is one ugly bird. I hope I can get a good picture because she is a sight to behold.
AAAWWWWWW, I bet she is beautiful!!!!
My new chicks are silkie x sultan / polish... some having purply-black skin....tufts on their heads just showing up...LOL too funny!

This one has splash, like the mama......all have same mama, notice the dark legs, and little feathering on legs

Here is a closeup of the tail of that one, I think it will be silkied, feather-wise, I hope

here's another one, notice the tuft and yellow beak....

and another....

and the other that looks just like the one above.....all will be splash

except this one, weirdo chick.....I have no idea where that color came from....Mutt Fun!!

I think he is awesome! my oldest daughter wants silkies so very bad!
Quote: I don't blame her, I love my silkies!! I have 2 that came from show quality parents, the other 2 are mutts!! Winter being one of them. My first chicken was a silkie (well, I got 2 that day, one was my BCM roo that got killed by neighbor's dog.)

Quote: That goofball will never crow with anyone around!! No way I could video or record it, I have tried several times.....sorry, I'll try again, he's a smart little guy!!
pretty cool lookin' dude! How do you keep his feather SO white? My light colored chickens look like dirt balls!
I don't do anything to keep them clean, we have just had no real rain lately, so the dry dirt just falls off, I guess...

He does have a tinge of yellow in his hackles, i think that is from the corn in his feed, though, because when I changed feed, it started doing that.

I believe by the way he is shaped, his comb, and everything that he is silkie x white leghorn.
Just my best guess, as he looks so much like my leghorn hens. I got him from the 'assorted bantams' box at the local feed store last spring. I did also get my Mille Fleur D'Uccle hen and a Golden Sebright roo at the same time, from the same box, and I believe they are purebred.
Not show quality, but pretty true to type.

Glad you guys like Winter, he is sort of the 'court jester' in that coop

What are my chickens!!!! This the response I just got about them... =(

"They're barnyard mixes. Parent birds included something barred, a Silkie, and probably an EE but none of these look like hatchery-bred "pure" anything."

What do you all think?
I think they are chickens!!!!

They will cluck, lay eggs, and run around. I don't know breeds well enough to help you out. My thought is if you aren't showing them in fairs or such, who cares!

Yes! My camera finally finished charging, so I was able to take some pictures. I have 6 different breeds, 2 of the barred rocks, I'll name them in the photos... Oh! and by the way, The discriptions are at the bottom, NOT the top of the pics...

This is Brooke, my australorp. She's the only one not to run from my hand when I reach in the brooder. :(

This is Yellow, my Buff Orp. She's a big, poofy scardy cat!

this is Echo, one of my barred rocks. Her beak is a little red because about a week ago, she got pecked a weee bit too much and it bled. Don't worry, i put blue coat on it!

OMG CHIKI!!! I JUST REALIZED YOU NEVER WERE LOOKING AT THE CAMERA! NOOOOOO! ...Rhode island red btw.

This Is Cinnamon, my brown leghorn. She didn't like being out, so I don't have many pictures...

...My other Barred Rock... SHE FLYS EVERYWHERE. Her name is Henna, she's so sweet.

And....What you've all been waiting for...hopefully. My little cutie mutt! She's the EE I've been talking about. Her name is Gem, and she is SO ADORABLE! She's fluffy and fuzzy, and NEVER poops on ANYONE. She's the nicest and I'm going to use her for the handling part of showing

So you all know, these birds are mostly about 1 1/4 month old. My Barred Rocks are closer to 3/4 months because they were replacments for the birds that died in the mail! <3 --Flytie <3

My new mutt I took in today. The barnyard she came from had waaaaay to many kinds for a newb like me to sort out! I saw ton of the lacewing patterns on the bully roosters that were there lol. Her feathers glisten a green iridescent color I had only seen in ducks before! Lol Hopefully my girls will accept her in time.

Pretty lady!

She reminds me a little of my gold lace wyandotte - maybe she's got some of that mixed in there
