I tried to find a tap for my horizontal nipples, but gave up. Just screwed the plastic nipple into the plastic bucket and was done with it. Some use plumbers tape to help avoid leaks. The tape won't hurt, but mine appear to do fine without it.
Which is actually better, IMO.11/32" just means that you won't screw it in quite as far.
So chickens really do have nipples? I'm going to milk them all if they do.

Was in reference to HN's, very tapered thread, that doesn't look like an NPT, but fits pretty perfectly into an 1/8 NPT. VN's have almost a machine thread(no taper).The vertical nipples I got had a gasket like thing to seal the nipple so they needed to be all the way in.

Why I said couldMine didn't bottom at out 3/8". There was still enough of a gap to put an insulating layer around the bucket and behind the nipples.
