Chicken not standing long

He did pass away early this morning. I was wondering if I should do that, but it has been 90's all the way to 105° so I felt conflicted about what was better for him.
My dad wondered if his flockmates crushed him during a thunderstorm (timing would be right) and that's why they were picking on him the next day, he was weak and internally injured.
My 4 month olds won't use their roosts, they pile in the corner no matter what I've tried.
I am sorry.
I keep forgetting..have you sent a bird straight to your state lab yet?

That would explain it. I lost a 4 month old Barny that way and some of my Sussex

Yes. I give the bodies to the vet, who sends it down to the University and communicates with the doctor doing the necropsy. Our university does not work with "patients", only licensed veterinarians. My luck is pretty bad, a majority of the necropsies sent down were isolated cases. (Egg bindings, bacterial infection, and coccidia)
And it cost me over 500$, they definitely think highly of themselves.

I'll be honest, I really wanted to send the poor guy down today. But I have spent so much on Necropsies and vet bills this year alone and it hasn't been worth it yet. I had to ask my parents if they'd pay for it and that's when my dad said the chicken was probably crushed and it wouldn't be worth it. So I had him bury the chicken while I'm still at work.

That's part of why I did my own home necropsy on my Cochin, I was hoping I could do this stuff on my own. But I don't have the heart to do it again yet.
I get paid this week, if I lose another bird I will send another one. Maybe consider an out of state lab, not sure yet.
