Ok, they are three weeks today, and in the coop! I wonder why its called a coop!? Anyway, we did what you said and wore face masks and sprinkled DE everywhere, layered it with shavings lkke lasagna, in oerches, etc.,They are locked in 36 square foot coop right now, then we will start giving them portions of the run. Thd run is about 10 by 70 feet, so i hope yhe coop is enough room fot ten large breed chickens.
We did not paint DE on coop, since i think that info is not accurate?

Wow thats a nice looking coop, light pours in so nice you don't need a flash. I think my favorite is all of them just hanging out in a group
