I'm so addicted to chickens! Incubating is awesome! Chicken Math took me over! It all started with 6 hens... Now I have 16! WHOO HOOO!

On the hopeful but wobbly road to a 6-chicken owner... Found a nice hatchery, decided on a good egglaying breed as a plan B. I'm proud of myself for doing so much research.


Now comes the hard part: the mom convincing

I am still working on the convincing part too.

I have been running with the "better to ask forgiveness, than ask permission" plan, which I DO NOT recommend for most parents, but mine are extra cool and are glad that my addiction only involves chickens and nothing heavier like ducks, geese, turkeys, ostriches or cocaine!

Ba ha ha ha! The convincing is merely opening the flood gates! No one I know of has had this foresight. I had to convince my DH...I had the perfect number of 5 chickens planned. I got a ton of chickens fast! There doesn't seem to be so many when they are small!

Seriously, I am dreading the winter watering. That is going to be my nightmare this winter.

Haha! I have a major chicken addiction! CHICKEN MATH RULEZ!

Everyone better watch out now that I have an incubator! 5 have already been hatched out, but IM NOT DONE YET!

It just makes me grin everytime I see a post where someone started out with a few chicks (or hens and roos) and get a few more, and a few more! I have yet to meet anyone that started off with 100 birds! It starts with just a few! At least this is a fun and positive addiction.
