I have a broody on 4 eggs right now and I am hoping I can move her and the babies when they hatch. I tried moving her and the eggs once and she did freak out. So I left her where she is, but she is in with a bunch of teenager chickens so I really want to put her and the babies in a safe place. I think once they hatch it should be easier to move them all.

When are they due to hatch? If it works out for you, I may use your experience as a guide for me! I am new to utilizing a broody!

Meagan mine are due in 6 days and she only has 4 eggs under her.....but they are your babies.

I will for sure let you know how it goes. She is in a raised nest box too, so I will have to check on her often during the hatch to make sure no babies fall out of the nest. I gave her the extras I couldn't fit into my bator.

Our first duck has hatched.

This is one of 9 Mallard eggs I'm hatching for a local woman. All the others on the right I am hoping will have big funny crests!

Yeah duckies! So how does the turner work in your new bator?? On big trays and tilt side to side?? And then you switch trays to hatch?? I have never seen a big incubator in person, always wondered how things work in them.

Welcome to the thread!

Thanks! So, here's my story: I am LittleLady98, I have five chickens. So far... I am getting 2-3 more soon. My first is still with me thankfully, her name is Precious Lady. I found her in the middle of the road. She was soooo dirty and stinky! She fell off a poultry truck. She now rewards me with almost an egg a day. I have four babies that are 13 and 14 weeks. Their names are: Dinero, Barroca, Raven, and Perch.

Oh...my...goodness! At first I want to ask how a chicken falls off a poultry truck, but I suppose I can imagine it.

You're telling me!!! My Aunt couldn't stop laughing when we told her! And she has chickens! My friends think I'm even crazier now! I just tell them that if I let them take care of a baby chick for one day they would be hooked too...
