So, my parents arrive home today after a week-long tour of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. I am a bit worried that they will object to the population increase in the chicken house.I have obtained 11 more chicks, 7 of which are a month old; since they left.

I have 2 broody hens now, the original one is on 10 eggs and is due in less than a week. The other one is not yet 5 months old and has only been laying for about 2 weeks. I thought she was just taking her time laying or avoiding the amorous attentions of the rooster. Then I thought she was too young to be broody and she would just waste the eggs after sitting on them for a few days and then abandoning them. I tried to get them away from her. She puffed up like an angry snake and struck me!!!! How WUDE!!!!

Her is a picture of her, she is a BBR OEGB and sitting on 5 bantam eggs, 2 plastic eggs and 1 HUGE EE egg!

The geese have doubled in size in the last week! They are getting feathers in already!

This is 'Honey', she sat in this position and let me pet her for about 20 minutes!

That's great....Get a written signed contract on that 50/50 hatch!!!!! if you have any valuable eggs there and be there to be sure he doesn't give you all roosters.....I've had that happened with shipped chicks...Oh Yeah, I know now that I want the entire straight run not say a portion of it....

That was a lot of roosters to try to rehome and at a high price! ugh...Lesson learned....moving on!

Not really, just mapped it out - she is like 2 hours west of me. you are a couple hours north of me. We are a big V.
