Ducks in general are cuter than chicks (except cheeky Ameraucanas and EE's)...ducks have expressive faces and cute little antics. But they aren't nearly as personable (as Chandra and I have come to find out) as geese and chickens!

Ran ( okay, drove ) down to the mail box this morning to pick up my Bantam Buff Orpington eggs from HenThymes. When I unpackaged them I had 3 Blue Orp eggs in there, heck, I don't care! I love all the Orpington colors!

This afternoon I'll be setting my Bantam BO eggs, Guinea, and Light and Coronation Sussex, 1 Splash JG egg from Lizzy, and last but not least a huge egg I found in the pen the other day.

My word you take excellent pictures! I feel like a broken record...I love broody mommas!!!!

Thankfully she's just a baby (8 months) and is being very nice to me. I can manhandle the chicks (put vanilla on everyone today to try and ward off the gnats) and she doesn't even mess with me. Just went out and gave them a scoop of egg and yogurt - she's gotten a bit pale over the last few days after not being able to go run around (chicks hatching and now it's raining off and on). My sweet roo makes very pretty little grey babies although I am not sure where the yellow one came from. LOL. Must take after its ee mom more than dad. (the blrw who went broody and hatched the eggs is not mom - her eggs are still pretty tiny).

faster mommy faster!
