Chicken seizuring and throwing up- Now suspect sour crop- question!

SO I just checked her crop again to make sure it hadn't changed and it actually does feel a little squishy now. Could that be that way just because she's hardly eaten a thing? There is no smell to the discharge that comes out of her beak so I don't think it's an impacted crop. Could there be some sort of blockage that she has been trying to work out???

Also, ever since her "seizures" she has not had trouble breathing so I am not sure about gape worm. She was panting and had trouble breathing on Wednesday but only after she had those fits (not sure exactly what those were but they seemed to start off this whole thing). Sometimes now she just seems dazed- i might wave my hand in front of her face and she just stands there for a little before reacting.

On wednesday it was grainy- not like I've ever seen it before. Then yesterday she didn't poot. This morning she did and it was grainy also. (I will try to take a pic of it to show but only have my comp to do that so they're usually not the best) So I am wondering now if maybe she isn't digesting her food properly?

also- i tried the link but it doesn't seem to be working!

Oh- and a question about the flush. I found threehorses post about using applesauce in a flush- thanks for that tip! If she's not really eating or drinking what's the best way to give it to her? I am thinking a dropper and just a few squirts of molasses water periodically for about 4 hours? maybe with some applesauce and honey mixed in?

First I am new to raising chickens so please take this for what it is worth. I remember somewhere on a post someone had omething simular to what is happening here. What I rember is they took the hen and turned it upside down and help milk the crop out. Maybe someone else or this person will rember and post. I wish you well

first I think you need to determine that it is a crop problem before you go turning your chicken upside down and trying to make it throw up. if she had something caught in her throat and that is what started all of this, then maybe she will continue to recover. If it is a crop problem then it should be treated. Look at her crop tonight. feel it , then in the morning do the same and post what you think about the 2. different times. do you give grit on an everyday basis? chickens need grit to chew their food. let us also know about her poop and the poop chart.

Thanks- I will definitely check on her crop again in the morning.

I looked at the poop chart (which is awesome) but none of them really look like hers did. It looked more normal this morning but now that it's sat out (yes, i saved it since this morning) you can tell it's grainier than usual. I am working on uploading a pic or two of her poo from this morning right now.

ok here are pics:

I know they're not that great of quality- sorry if they aren't very clear!

and so you can put a face to the poo, here's butters:

i know- sorry about the pics. by grainy i just mean it looks as though the poop has a lot of grains in it about the size of bird seed (although I haven't fed them any scratch or anything like that since last week). from what i have seen it is usually smoother and doesn't have things that appeared to be solid. i suppose i could do a more thorough examination of it and see if i can tell what it is... i will have to wait until she poops again to do that since i chucked out the last one after taking a picture.

and i forgot to answer your question about grit. i read that feed already comes with grit in it and since they range all over the back yard i'm pretty sure they get enough grit from little rocks and things like that.
