if i was a farmer in the old days i would have had to trade with another farmer so i could eat things i never met. lol wendy, i did not get a newsletter. i sent you my email this morning. also, can you guys tell me what advantage it is to join a club and which one is best. do any of you put your birds in shows?

gypsy, that must be really difficult not to buy meat in stores. have you had this allergy your whole life? i was thinking about restaurants. that must be really tough for you to go out to eat. my niece can not eat dairy. when the holidays come it is always a challenge to cook things she can eat. but if i had to figure out no store bought meat, cheese, or milk. wow

To all you people who live in the NH area and close by......what do you sell your eggs for? I have people asking though I do not have enough laying as of yet as we just started doing chickens this year.

So I thought I would ask some of the more "seasoned" veterans.

I have had this allergy since I was in my early 20's.
I had had surgery and infection set in , unforutantely the drug of choice was pennicillian. the allergy became accute in a matter of days.
Luckily it became apparent in the hospital and was treated before anything bad could happen.

I also have a shellfish allergy so there for do not go to any resteraunt that sell shellfish and meat that doesn't come from an antibiotic free place.
Dunkin Donuts Veggi omlet is my best friend lol, if I have to go out to eat.
So few resturants offer Veggi anything. beside that I am terrified to go to any resteraunt .
On Vacation in Maine 3 years ago, we went out to eat with my sister and i had 1 ! french fry, next thing I knew I woke up in the hospital.
culprit, french fries were cooked in the same oil as the shell fish. never even gave it a thought , so now I avoid resturaunts.

Honestly I do not miss the expense lol.

Forgot to add, my oldest grandaughter is diabetic which makes the holidays a miserable time , no pies, sweets anything that will cause her sugar to spike.

how do you tell an 11 year old, no you cannot have pie, cookies etc when the other 3 can. I would much rather my allergies than her diabetes.

$2.00 per dozen is what I sell them for.
a few years ago before this economy it was $1.25 with a 5 cent off the next dozen if they bring back the carton
them things get expensive after a while.

I would be fine if it was in the back of the building...I would make sure I didn't head out that way.

I really managed to get this flock into an uproar.

I couldn't eat Slifer who was a Cantakerous Bag of Feathers, and there's not enough meat on Obelisk to make a cup of soup.

I even bought a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach so that he wouldn't be fed to something.
But I had no problem feeding pinkies to the snakes at work. waddupwidat?

A family friend is getting $4 a dozen at a local(Dedham Ma) farmers market.

Wow gypsy. I cant imagine being that allergic. Scary.
One of my friends daughters has a severe dairy allergy. She usually doesnt go to other kids birthday parties and if she does cant have cake and ice cream. They dont eat out much either because they just can not be guaranteed her safety.
For some reason my medical records say I have a shellfish allergy. But I have eaten crab and lobster with no problem. Only time I had a reaction to anything was Demerol when I was in my early 20s.
They put the Demerol in via IV and as it went into my system the hives showed up... going up along my arm. Needless to say they quickly yanked the Demerol and shot some Benydryl type stuff in right quick. That was fun. They sent me home with the IV catheter in my hand. Since I had to go back for pain meds and monitoring for three days until they could schedule my surgery. Good times.. good times

I'm down in Troy, and when the feed prices skyrocketed along with the gas prices, I went from $2 a dozen to $3 a dozen. I couldn't keep the cooler stocked, they went so fast! The store prices weren't much less, so I figured it would be worth $3 to buy actual REAL free range, fresh eggs. My customers seem to agree.
