Chicken training

So.... Like Neosporin?
One thing about neosporin, get the one that does not have painkillers which can be harmful to chickens. If they must have pain killer or a vet recommends it you should use the one with painkillers, but otherwise don’t.
Also I don’t think a tiny scratch is a big problem. You might want to wash it out but blue kote isn’t necessary. If it would make you feel better (I know I get a bit overprotective about mine!) you can use the blue kote but to be honest I don’t think you need to.

The training is going well. I can get snowball to come with me if I hold out a treat and give the leash a gentle tug, and they aren't struggling as much when I put it on because I give them treats to eat while I put it on. The treats that they love the most is peas. I found out that cricket will jump up to grab a pea from my hand. Cricket still won't walk with me so I have to put dwn treats in front of her to get her to walk forwards. I only work with them for about ten minutes at a time so they can rest after.

I also have a chicken harness and use it quite often. At first they didn't understand what it was or what they should do, but I used treats to make them a path to follow. I focused on one chicken at a time but now they all know how to walk on it with me. It just takes time, patience and a bag of meal worms!

You guys are too cute! I would be delighted to see someone walking their chickens on leashes in town.
