I have a 3 month old chicken thats at the very vottom of the pecking order with barely a feather on her back. I've seen that happen a few times. But recently I noticed her comb started turning black like neurotic flesh. Also she wobbles when walking but still eats and drinks normally.
Anything I can do for her? Husband thinks it could be fowlpox. I've never dealt with that.

I would assume it's from being pecked. How big is your set up? And how many birds? Crowding is the main reason for aggressive pecking, especially in such young birds, it can turn to cannibalism. Always give chickens lots of room and things to keep them busy.

They were in a pretty small space up until recently since they were too small and we have many flying predators around. Would just pecking cause a portion of her comb to turn black like that?it's thinner than the rest of it like it's dead dry skin.

I can only guess at what caused it. The black tissue will eventually fall off, it's similar to frostbite.
