Hi Everyone
I have a feeling i may have left this too late , but my Isa Brown hen , Sweet Pea is very ill
Sweet Pea is roughly 2 years old and started laying eggs - last year in January.
She stopped laying "normal eggs" after about 6 months , and has completed stopped laying eggs since then.
She was laying "soft Eggs" eggs without shells , and was actually eating them.
Recently we got two new aracana chickens , and we found her eating their eggs aswell.
Sweet Pea has been waddling around for about 2 weeks now.
She cannot run , and is standing upright. Her whole under carriage and bum area is swollen and filled with fluid. She is uncomfortable and doesnt like us massaging the area.
I have cut away the feathers at her vent , but she is no longer drinking or eating. I forced some water with calcium down her throat yesturday but i dont think its enough. She is doing very tiny small clumped poos from what i have seen. But i cannot get over how swollen she is , she is tripple the size of my other isa brown...
Im worried she is eggbound , or has worms and its too late- she is very sad, shes quiet and is struggling to walk , she keeps tucking her head into her feathers
Is this a sign she is egg bound ?
Is this a sign she has worms ?
Is this something i can get the vet to check for
Please any advice would be great, i feel so bad for sweet pea.
