I'm glad she's not any worse. She looks really pretty and I bet you'll get some beautiful eggs from her soon. Cool compresses will make that eye feel good.

Thank you so much her eye is doing a lot better now. The swelling went all the way down. Thank God lol!!

I hope we are in the same boat. I noticed the exact same thing--single eye swollen on my son's favorite Buff Brahma. Otherwise she seems fine, and it's only the one. No bubbling or bad smell or any other changes to her personality. How long did you go with the wait and see approach?

I wonder if they can get poison ivy or sumac reactions on their heads' exposed skin. My vet tells me that dogs get it often on their bellies and such. Now I wonder about chickens too a bit...

The swelling lasted about 4 or 5 days then went away now she's perfectly fine.

I hope that happens here. Today, no better, no worse. I'm putting triple antibiotic cream on it but we have no tractor supply to get the injectables. I'm calling the vet tomorrow to see if she has. Thanks for the support!

I think just give it time. Swelling from injury usually tops out on day two or 3 and then you start to see improvement. A baby aspirin can be cut into fifths (seriously). Lol and can be used as anti inflammatory if you want to do something besides ice or cool compress.

I hope she's ok and gets better soon. I felt so helpless when it happened to my little girl and it was the same eye too.
