Chickens and Cats

Quick question, we are thinking about getting a couple barn cats to keep the rodents down a bit. I do not see a problem with the chickens, but as my chickens start having chicks this spring, is that going to be a problem? Our renters has two indoor/outdoor cats that caught tons of mice but never touched the chicks. They are gone now and I we are looking to get our own. We want strictly outdoor cats, so they may be more into the hunting. Any thoughts on this?

Experiences may vary, but there are feral cats where i live and i have never lost a chick to one. They tend to stay out of the way of the chickens.
