I had a hen that laid soft shelled eggs all the time. She would look sick too before she laid them. You might try giving her some liquid calcium with vit D3. I had luck with Caltrate, helps them put on a hard shell. Some hens are just prone to laying thin and soft shelled eggs.She is more active

That's how my girl was too, she'd feel better afterwards. Before I figured out what was going on, sometimes she would be sick 24 hours before she laid.Thank you for the info!
Yeah she is walking around now and acting normal so I think it was the egg.
