Chickens being stolen

Oh those brats! I would press charges for sure...teach them a lesson! So what would they want chicks for anyway!? OH that bugs me! Sorry to hear you still have some missing! Poor things! I hope they are home soon with you.

I would also press charges! I can't even begin to know what I would do. My coop is getting a lock and the key will be with me.. I don't want anyone messin with my chickens.

Are you sure the boys wanted the chickens or just wanted to be mean?

How old were these kids? Where were the chicks located? Have you found the last three??

I live in an area that is supposed to be "safe" but some close by kids have robbed us of all our bicycles and three scooters (motorized) and just about everything else not nailed down, the law has so only charged them with one bike theft and all they did was some community service and wrote a letter of apology to us. No much for several hundred dollars in theft.

* We've had at least 2 'infamous' 12-13 year olds with so many auto theft charges under their belts that these kids could open their own CarMax place. . . Maybe chickens and bikes are where they start. . . .I'm not sure about helping them start their own coop. Seems like rewarding bad behavior. But, maybe, if they ASKED AND RETURNED THE OTHER CHICKS, or, at least replaced them,as part of their apology, I might do it.

. I THINK the cops may have missed one thief.

well , naturally the mothe rsaid it was not their boys in MY back yard , that a lil friend of theirs was bringing them the chickens .

Funny thing is , I had 2 witnesses that identified 2 of their boys of being in the yard stealing the chickens . FUNNY thing is , this is not the 1st. time neighbors have seen them in my yard .

I had just went out there to feed and water the chickens and managed to do the watering part , when I returned inside to go to the bathroom , the phone rang , I answered it , and returned outside to finshing feeding part , when I discovered the cages open and chicks missing . I DO have locks on my cages . It happened that quick ........

ALSO , another funny thing , they had WIRE CAGES in their back yard with 2 of my chicks in the cage . WHY did they have cages with water and feed in the cage if they DID NOT own chickens that BELONGED to them ? Mother said the rest of the chicks were under their house . WHY didn't these parents make their son's return these chicks , they already KNEW they were stolen and did NOT belong to them . Mother said they were both working and had no idea kids were doing this .

I told her I had a NEWS FLASH for both her and her hubby . I raised 3 children and worked . I had a responsible adult caring for my children while I worked , BUT did NOT excuse the FACT , regardless , they ARE TOTALLY responsible for the actions of their minor children .

I had spoken several times to these boys about staying out of my yard , or I would have to get the police involved , WELL , LOOKS like they called my bluff .............

about 4 of them ages 8 to 13 . the 13 yr. old was the only one because of age that could be arrested .

MAYBE , just maybe this will teach them a lesson .

I totally agree with you there. I have raised my three boys by myself and they are well-behaved, respectful, sweet young men. All the parents who don't possess these kinds of children seem to assume they sprung from the womb obedient and willing!!! That I was just "lucky" to have such good children! I think this kind of absolves them in some way from producing the same....like they were just "unlucky" to get the unruly, difficult children of the world. Raising good human beings takes hard work and diligent consistency. I say take the parents to jail and give the kids to someone who has the brains to raise them properly!
