Chickens comb is bleeding on both sides!!! What to do? Pics included

Always good advice from aart, and they will not steer you wrong!
I have used Blu-Kote with success, but not the Vetrycin...
This pic is right now. I have her in kitchen until i can get a dog pen to put in the run. I didn’t realize the comb was about half come off! I have to wait a few hrs to have the blue kote delivered to me. In the meantime shes not actively bleeding and i put neosporin on it.

It's not a bad antiseptic but the staining is a PITA and there are other thing that work jsut as well.
Heck, you can just use a triple antibiotic ointment...which most folks have on hand anyway.
What concerns me is the comb is much more unattached then i originally thought. 🐓❤️

Important that there is no blood showing, dried or otherwise, to the other birds or she's going to get injured again.

We use Blue-Kote wound spray on surface injuries because it masks the injured area so the other birds can't see it and, therefore, won't continue to attack the injured area.

It's going to be important in the coming days to figure out what's happening in your coop. If the hens are fighting at roost time, this creates significant stress on the birds. If the birds are stressed due to tight space, it encourages pecking/fighting and vice-versa. Yes, it can be a vicious circle/cycle.

It appears you have 6 birds. For 6, you should have about 4sf of floor space for each bird in the coop and about 12-14" of roost bar space per bird. Here's a decent guide to coop sizing and number of birds. Good luck with your girls!

They have plenty of space. At night they act like they are sharing a 3ft long roost. I have 2 8ft long roosts for 6 chickens. 🤷🏼‍♀️🐓❤️

There is something you need in your first aid kit..it’s called Vetbond..it’s like superglue for skin, you can get it from Amazon..also styptic powder to stop bleeding..
Katanahamon, her comb appears to be more than 50% unattached. Would i still use this superglue for the skin product?? Thank you in advance.

Hmm..good point. A vet might need to anesthetize it and cut off part of it..or is it possible to just keep antibiotic on all of it and see if it heals, with it staying like a loose flapping thing?
