Thanks, I hope so too. This week I have 24 6 week old CX to process. Good greif. Absolutely the last thing I want to do! But its a must and even if I do a few at a time, it will be done.

I grow mine to 8 weeks so you still have plenty of time.

These monsters cannot handle another 2 weeks, days maybe, they are so big they are beginning to have a hard time breathing and walking. What weight do you get at 8 weeks?
Not only that, 25 birds are eating way to much, about 50lbs 1 1/2 days. This monday I'll process a few. DH will be gone for the week, I'll go at my own pace, I have room for 15 in the refrigerator at a time.
Have a good one!

FYI for all. I am drastically downsizing my flock. I will be bringing a number of birds to Chickenstock. I can not tell you what I have right now. I will have a couple of roos, a dozen or so pullets and some straight run. Bantams and Standard. See you guys there.

Hey guys
had a quick question I was hoping to get help with.....
I was looking at the Dept of Ags website to find out about NPIP and can't find anything on it....does anyone have info on requirements, costs, etc? I know you were talking about being tested at the swap but I wanted to find out about just getting my backyard flock tested so I can sell hatching eggs eventually. Thanks for any help

Somewhere I have a list of testers. Give me a day or two unless someone else has it...I passed it on to the club at some point and now I cannot find it in my files. Gesh.
Feel free to write to Dr.Don Hoenig, MSV, and ask for the current list that Cindy Kilgore sent out for NPIP listed folks.

if you bring your birds to the farmington basket show sunday, you can have them all tested. if it's austin brann testing he has been charging $10 for up to 20 birds. you need to bring all the chickens, turkeys and guineas, and (ducks too right?) that are over 1 yr old and any under 1 yr that you plan to show. the first time, everyone needs to be tested then it's 10% of the flock and one of each breed yearly. I know there is a list of testers online but from what spook said, it's not current and I couldn't find it.
