Chicks for Christmas ! Submit your holiday chick pictures contest on!

I don't measure feed per chick, just keep the feeder full. But if it gets empty too much, I add another feeder. Are they all the same age and breed type, like Large Fowl versus bantam?

they are all the same, aloha chickens, which is a project that at the moment contains many sizes. all the same age too. little shelly is the smallest, but she does this thing where when the others are eating she jumps right on them and lands in the middle to eat. creative, but maybe not safe, lol. she's half the size of all the others.
*oops, already said that**

Wonderful! As long as they seem vigorous, they are probably OK. If you start to see feather plucking, divide into two groups based on size and give them more room. Keep us posted with pics. Deb

Chicklet Swings will be going out next Monday sooo if anybody wants one remember to PM me your address.

What's the chick photo contest? Can I enter? My chicks didn't hatch until the 30th. Thanks!!

And on a side note, this week not off to the best start, face is THROBBING from infected tooth and root canal, AND just to add insult to injury, came home and my best layer has had a chunk taken out of her back side!!! I am very new to this whole chicken life and have not had a chicken survive an attack before. So I did a little research on BYC, rinsed her injury with water laced with Epsom Salt, gently washed it as best I could with antibacterial soap, patted her dry and applied triple antibiotic ointment. She's chilling in a crate in the kitchen eaten scrambled eggs and being waited on like the princess she thinks she is. And totally deserves it!! She was the BEST patient ever!

Sure, all you need is pics you take of chicks and post them here:) Sorry about your root canal, been there, done that:p You might want to boost the protein in your chickens diets if they are attacking each other. Hope she makes it.
