DH is complaining because our electric bill went up $150. He blames it on the heat lamps. Wait until the goats start kidding! :-D I think it's because of the space heater in my bathroom, it is cold in there. Farthest room from the furnace, and I keep the door closed a lot because of kitty litter pan

Funny, last time i tried to put a goat in a box, it didn't go well Here is a pic of the last baby born here;

My mom's egg nog recipe. Works best with extremely fresh, multi-coloured, free-range eggs!

(But grocery store eggs will do in a pinch!!

)

Egg Nog


12 eggs, separated
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of rum
6 cups of milk
1 cup of whipping cream
Fresh ground nutmeg


1. In a large bowl beat up egg yolks with sugar (low speed first to mix, then high speed until thick and lemon coloured)
2. Slowly beat in rum
3. Chill if done ahead
4. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form
5. Beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form
6. Add milk to yolks and rum (and nutmeg - about 1 tsp if desired). Stir
7. Gently fold egg whites and whipped cream in until just blended
8. Serve with a bit of nutmeg sprinkled on each cup. (Keep a dish of fresh ground nutmeg beside punch bowl for this purpose)

I wanted a male friend for my female bunny when we lived in FL. Instead of going through all the pleading, I just bought one and put it in there. Before DH saw it, somehow it escaped from the cage and he found it in the yard running around. Naturally we had to keep it.

The RUM part got my attention right away. Too bad my guts will not let me drink it, Egg nog is one of my favorite bevs.
