Zaine kept his eyes glued to a page in the sketchbook as he listened to her reply. He couldn't accuse her of negativity, that was for sure. "That's good," he said, smiling slightly. "Good that even after what you've gone through, you can still see the bright side of things. Do you mind me asking where you were before the labs?" He wasn't asking so much for her childhood life, but what her circumstances were beforehand. Many of the kids Ryker had had been orphans or in a foster system or other.Lyra understood his outlook on things, it made sense. "Would I prefer to go back and be a normal human, maybe. When Ryker took me it was the closet thing I had to a home and a family. While I don't like what became of it, I do not hate him for what he's done. He probably had a good reason for doing what he did, one that I won't try to understand. But I am happier here then I ever was in my previous years, far happier then when I was human. And I wouldn't be able to be here if I was human. So I suppose that is one good thing that came out of it." She said looking at him, she didn't want to sound crazy like she had been drinking the cool aid but it was truly how she saw it.
