Go, Denty - you can do it!So I have two more eggs. Somehow they were salvaged from my friend’s other broody goose (who gave up sitting recently). Her 2 year old who was very helpful washed the two eggs in a puddle and dropped this one in the process
Luckily the majority of the crack was in the aircell and didn’t break the membrane.
I waxed it up when i got them last week and put it in the incubator. I’m seeing an internal pip today… I’ll keep an eye on it to see whether it needs an assist … still not super hopeful, but definitely grateful that its made it this far. rooting for the little guy
My broody being half silkie refused to be broken, so she has the other intact egg. I’m not exactly keen on having her raise a gosling if it hatches, so I guess I’ll be breaking out the broody cage soon.
barely slept last night! it hatched around 4amGoslings can get themselves into strange positions while trying to hatch...I've even had a couple block the safety hole while making their turns and expire.
Glad yours looks like it should be hatching in (probably) the next few days. As you know, those active veins means it has a bit to go.![]()
What a darling little thing!! I'm glad they could hatch ok after all.barely slept last night! it hatched around 4am
