Choosing a breed to specialize in... Help!

Right now, I have a black copper maran hen, a cuckoo maran pullet, seven barred rock hens, eight RIR hens, one spangled game pullet, six sex linked bitties, two partridge rock roos, a RIR roo and a sexlink roo.

I'm really interested in Sumatras. Didn't know if I needed to splurge for a maran rooster, or keep running those two with the RIR.

I'm def. going to do my research on the Sumatras.

Any suggestions on a breed that will keep laying through the winter to run with my egglayers?

The welsummer questions come from the fact that a friend of mine has a flock and will trade me eggs for a "diet coke." Thinking of hatching some this spring.

If you want Bantams we raise very nice ones. If you are looking for LF I know a man here in NC that has some nice ones. I also know a man in Indiana that has very nice ones also. I have large fowl Sumatras...mine are not from hatchery stock...and they have excellent temperaments, as well. My Sumatras are laying daily--I can ship eggs tomorrow.
