As for bears, ya'll do what you want. Trust them because they are small, or cowards or what have you... your choice.

As for the BB gun, if soft drink cans are your prey go for the .177. If something bigger and tougher might ever be an issue, take the greater power of the .22

I use it to kill raccoon in live traps and have killed rabbits with it. Very quiet as long if you use regular lead pellets. If you use the high performace pellets they will break the sound barrier and you get that riffle crack.

crossman 600 i have owned several pellet guns and that was the best it has multi pump and takes bbs and pelets

Something else you may wish to consider is a single shot .22 RF with a supply of CB Longs

Hi all,

My son has a pellet gun and I have a question that veers a bit from the original topic of this thread, but not too far. Today we had our eight girls out in our yard for the first time. They are 4 weeks old and a few of them picked up pellets and ate them. They are all over the place outside. (I'm calling them pellets - they look like the bbs I used to shoot with my bb gun as a young girl, but they are plastic, and his happen to be florescent green.) Does anyone know if my chicks are going to get sick from eating them?? Do you think they will pass them??
