Bawkadoodle, come to TX. We'll teach you how to do it without the facial scarring- maybe my 11 yo dd can help, she's pretty good. Thanks for the memories Miss Prissy!

Oh my goodness! I go off to buy groceries and you guys are playing without me! We need to have a BYC convention just to jump rope together.

Thanks for all the great rhymes! I'm familiar with some of them, but others are new to me. Won't it be fun to play those with the girls! Y'all are fabulous!

Envirogirl- I'll have to go find that book. It sounds perfect for the nieces. They are very daring!

The Daring Book for Girls and the matching book for the boys are books every child should have at their fingertips while growing up. We purchased the girls book and at the same time got the boys book and have it waiting for my 2 yr old DS to come of age to enjoy it.

Envirogirl - they all might be in the book but they were in my childhood and my oldest DD's childhood first

I used to jump rope a lot, but I have never heard any of these rhymes.

Has anyone seen Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds"? There are some kids jumping rope singing a rhyme, but I can't make out the words as it isn't very clear. I was wondering if anyone recognized the tune and knew the words.

Hmmm we were not good kids growing up. I don't know how appropiate this would be but here it is...

I always got this one confused with Miss Suzy and her steamboat:

Miss Lucy had a baby
she named him Tiny Tim
she put him in the bathtub
to see if he could swim!

He drank up all the water
he ate up all the soap
he tried to swallow the bathtub
but it wouldn't go down his throat!
