Have they molted yet? If not, then that could explain why they are slowing down. Also, production type hybrids (such as Red Stars, Cinnamon Queens, etc.) are bred to lay a lot of eggs in a short amount of time. This is because commercial egg production companies only care about the amount of eggs, and not how long an individual birds lays (they can just replace them). Therefore, most production-type hybrids stop laying sooner than most breeds of chicken simply because they were not meant to be steady layers. Your hens will probably continue to lay eggs for several more years, but never at the same rate as before. Can anyone tell me how long cinnamon queens lay eggs?
