here's
a thread where we were thrashing around the ideas of climate change....... This bill only brings this topic back up so figured I'd drop the link instead of restate all my beliefs

And now if only Al Gore would do another movie called "The REAL Truth"!! I'm not saying that I don't feel for the polar bear, I Do but, don't believe everything that Al Gore tells anyone. Yes we may have some climate change but not enough to change our lives the way he tries to make us think. Anything that does change will take more years than we will ever see. The real reason for his "dire straights" speeches and movies, etc,.... is because of the MONEY. Isn't everything?? Look into what kind of companies he has his money invested. He stands to make billions when EVERYONE "buys" into the "Global Warming" web he has woven!!!

I will take bets on how fast this thread gets closed for politicking.

Current odds:

1:2 in 4-6 pages
5:1 in >9 pages

Winner gets...I dunno, I'll think of something.

I'll take the 4-6

but the animal's lives, it prob wouldn't hurt us much at all but them yes, and I don't want my kids living with the prob. Not arguing just stating what I think.

Do you and your family enjoy a certain amount of freedom?
Are you allowed to turn your heater or air conditioner on or off when YOU want to?
Does your family have the right to get in your car and drive to the store when you need to? The hospital?

Suffering has gone on for thousands of years, both human and animal (well, maybe a bit longer on the animals) and I don't like it either, But YOUR (and my) future freedom is what is at stake here.

Think it through.

I'm one of those that are on the fence as well... but that's typical for me with politics

For those of you concerned about energy costs why not look into alternative energy for your home? We're looking at either solar or wind and it's not THAT expensive... and more than worth it in the long run.

My question is....what are all of those coal, oil, etc., workers going to do for work when eventually they do all of these things? Like my family for instance. That's all I'm gonna say.

Oh I'm sure some government ( or government sponsored/subsidized) position that keeps them alive and complacent ( read silent) will come along after they have had enough time to get really desperate.

OK that might be reaching at this stage of the game, but it is the future.

If "cap and trade" passes, get ready for your electric bill to triple, possibly quadruple.

I work for the electric utility company in my area and this is real. Nothing comes free and with the so called smart grid system and smart metering system, well, just be prepared for what is to come if this bill isn't greatly altered before passing.

I work for the electric department and I will have to get another full time job just to be able to pay my electric bill!!!
