Clipping wings on chickens

Has anyone cut the primary feathers off of their birds? I'm having issues with them flying in my neighbors yard and getting stuck. Do you think trimming would solve this issue? Or am I screwed? It's about a 4-4 1/2 ft chain link fence. I don't want to clip if it's not going to help anything.

My isa browns came to me with clipped wings. It can apparently stop them getting lift. I haven't personally clipped them, although I've also read posts by others who have.

Clipping will help, it doesn't hurt them at all. Make sure there is nothing that they are hopping on to get over fence

I have clipped and she still jumped the fence.
Your fence is a bit low. You could try adding lattice to make your fence 6 feet high?
Basically once they start its hard to change a chickens mind.
