Closed gate!

ok this is the best one so far... very very funny! we go with:

if you can read this, you are in range.

big dogs, huge truck with an NRA sticker in the window, husband's size 13 shoes on the porch... keeps most of them out.

i have to say that i was impressed with the cable guy when he actually came to the door (got out of his truck and walked past the gate) - usually the dogs are out but he knocked. 'course after i set the dogs on him that mean old gander came to get his $0.02 in too......

Yeah... I was treating myself to a short nap today and had just gotten to the good sleep portion of said nap (meaning that all the dogs were snoring, the cats were not on my head and I was hitting REM) when someone knocked on the door. Total chaos erupts around here when someone knocks on the door. Sigh. The manic barking and sharp kitty claws in my chest yanked me right out of that sound sleep. It was some young girl selling books. I think she's one of the Liberty University book sellers. She was really sweet, but she ruined a perfectly lovely nap. Now I'm sleepy and grouchy. Grrr...

I have a poorly laid pea gravel drive. There is a path in that I follow so my tires don't bog down. My revenge on strangers stopping by is that they have a hard time getting back out of the driveway. If you come in wrong you can sink your tires almost to the wheel well. Oh well.

We have that one. Also one that reads: "Caution, We don't call 911".

Seems to keep neighbors and relatives away too.

We've been lucky so far. We live on a busy road with few neighbors, so we rarely get folks stopping by.

We did have a guy stop and ask how much for our goats because they were ready to eat.

That was funny.

I like to go to the door with my big chow/golden mix barking and growling at my side. They never even start their spiel... Funny part is, he would rather run in the other direction than get near a stranger! What they don't know can't hurt
