Cheryl, your baby has what I call Pampers. It really looks like it when the chick is solid black and the fluff is white. So cute.
Ok, about breeding. I am clueless. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to breed. I was worried about roosters in a smaller yard even though legal. I went through several phases, thinking I wanted this or that or worse yet, one of each! Then Stella flew over my fence and made the decision easy for me. Well, she piqued my interest and Sigrid made it happen.
So I raise and breed Icelandic chickens. One coop and yard is all I need. And, I can still have my layers as long as they lay brown eggs. It works for me. Now we just have to see if I can move the chicks once they hatch!
What are you thinking about breeding?
