Can I seriously not just make a simple comment on anything? I was simply just stating it might be able to make a meal for a person or two. I honestly don't care if some one wants to eat a bantam or not. I think you takes comments the wrong way. I will just keep my thoughts or take them elsewhere
I hope you don't. I think that mature people should be able to disagree respectfully.
I eat some of my animals, not others. I wouldn't eat my dogs, but ppl in some parts of the world do.
I don't look down on them for doing it and I would hope that they don't look down on me for not, even if we both state our own choices in the same conversation.

Do Pekin bantams need special care as chicks?

My Bantam Cochin Frizzle was raised with five white Leghorns and five gold Comets. We treated them all the same. She was the smartest, so we think that she established herself at the top of the pecking order early. The only difference we noticed (besides the frizzled feathering and feathered feet) was that she stopped growing at about 3 mos and the other pullets kept growing until they were about 6 mos old. There was an instance a month or so ago where someone said she looked larger, but IDK if she was just fluffed out a bit b/c of the weather.

As promised, my two new blue bantam Cochins from Jamie Matts. They have been traveling for two days through the mail, and I took the pictures just two hours after I got them home. There was a big scarlet macaw making a lot of noise on their left and a pit bull to their right--so they were understandably a little excited. They are a nicer color--a clearer blue--than the pictures suggest. Not the best pictures--dirty birds right out of the shipping box--but here they are. I'm very happy with them.

They're nice looking birds!!!
How old are they?
I've never heard about shipping anything but day-old chicks.
How do you ship them at this age?

Goth bantamsXD. I like light colors, light brown, light gray, light white, light blue, but I also like black....And red.

I prefer dark color birds, b/c I free range and it's easier for dark colored birds to camoflauge than it is for light birds. (I guess that depends on what they're trying to blend in with, but we don't have snow here, so dark is a better color here).

She is pretty!!! And I think the pic of her on your shoulder is great!
I only have a white pullet. I want to get a roo for her and I want to start adding some color.
I'm not worried about showing; I just think they're pretty and I want her to brood for me, to help me with increasing my laying flock.
I plan on selling her offspring until I need to replace her. She's a pet and she will receive the same treatment as our other pets have. She's not just another chicken in my flock. =)

Yes, I do love the light colors and even though I'd free range I'd still put them up and keep them safe.
