Cochin breeding, genetics, and showing

Pics
Hi everyone! I ordered these frizzled Cochin eggs, 15 out of 18 have hatched so far.
I'm not sure if they came out of a pen with mixed colors as the eggs were not marked. As I am not very familiar with the Cochin colors (hatched too many BBS Silkies lol), I wanted to ask if any of these chicks look like any existing color? Or did I just get a bunch of mystery colors? I'd be ok with that, I just wanted some for pets.

This one looks a bit darker in the picture. It's not quite as dark brown.

Chick #4
Could this be a splash? There are two of these and two that are even lighter. The lighter ones remind me of self-blues?

I have been to both Sanctioned shows and fairs and I have not really seen a difference between them at least in my area. I have actually asked the question on this thread because I don't see a difference.I just wanted some advice on how it make not boring and a little less complicated. Thank you coopa cabanna for the great lin

In another subject I have been thinking about breeding Charles and Camilla my pair of bantam white cochins that recently won first at a show. The problem is that Charles has some faint grey spots on his feathers and the blade of his comb turns to one side ever so slightly. On the other hand he has a great deal of long feathering on his feet and he has a nice overall body shape. Camilla is a very nice hen that has no grey spots and a excellent full cushion tail but her feet are not as profusely feathered. If I breed the two do you think I will get the best of both worlds or something bad?

I will certainly have to post pictures of those two later.
all I can say is put them together. you'll never know WHAT you get until you try... and 3-4 chicks is not a good sampling for a test breeding IMO. my 'test breeding' I try to hatch 15-20 to see what I get. you'll get some 'eh' quality, some awesome and probably a lot inbetween.

though I have to say the results of my one and only test breeding of my blrw trio have been overwhelmingly positive... there are 4 chicks hatched, 3 were sold but stay in contact, and so far ALL are turning out very nice. so I got lucky in my matchmaking skills there I guess. 8)

Here's another colour they don't reconize but shes a cochin. Her colours called Mauve (Chocolate Blue)

I don't know anything about the chick in the picture. I seldom care what they look like when young because they change so much as they grow and the end result is all that matters. I LOVE

the hen in the picture which we call silver penciled here and some call silver partridge.

the only thing that stands out this early on is her foot color. it should be yellow, not dark.

otherwise, i'd say it's too early to say much else on type.
According to the SOP, female blue Cochins can have yellow to dusky yellow feet and shanks. The bottoms should be yellow. See pages 82-82 of the 2010 SOP

Keep in mind she walks on alfalfa hay all day long. The green is from that.

Opps! I obviously need to change the time stamp on my camera~

So you are saying there is nothing obviously wrong with her at this stage except possibly leg color?
