Cochin breeding, genetics, and showing

Pics
I was in the UK a couple of weeks ago and they were gorgeous up there. They also had really pretty porcelains.
OH yeah, they do have beautiful birds and many colors that we don't recognize over here. I've always thought if I somehow ended up in a country like the UK or Australia I'd try to figure a way of getting some hatching eggs back with me. Of course I could end up in customs being searched for drugs also.

This is Jap, the one I spoke of as being my favorite the first and second pic is of how he looks today, Sorry for the poor quality, he was too busy dancing like he always does showing off to the girls. The third pic is of how he looked 2 months after he was mauled by the beagle. Poor thing, he attacked my hands for months every time I took him out to clean the wounds or give him food and water...He has calmed down now, and no longer hand shy. I can thank the beagles for that! Hard to believe they are the same bird!

I have a one month old mottled bantam cochin chick, I am hoping to get a picture later but until I can do that. I am looking for confirmation that it is most likely a cockerel based on the following features: he is still mostly fuzzy with only a few wing feathers and as of this morning his crest is very red. I know that isn't a lot to go one but this is my first batch of hatchlings and he just screams boy to me. Does that seem like the right assumption? Thanks!!

Thank you she was my first Birchen hen and was very beautiful. She died in my arms a few years back. She had a good long life.

Can someone critique my Georgie? I've been getting interested in breeding for show and sale and wondering if she should be part of that or should just stay my sweet lap chicken.
400

I realize this isn't a great photo, but hopefully it gives a decent idea of her shape and plumage. I will try to take more tomorrow.

Do you know any good breeders of partridge cochin bantams?
