The Black is very good. Watch the eye color closely. Like the wide feathers and the fact she is not built too close to the ground. Looks like a Cochin should in my opinion.

So here is one of the Cochins I got a couple weeks ago, Smoke was such a cute chick and now he's just a mess...not worried about gender, just wondering on the feathering.


The others, the same age, are fluffier..what's up with Smoke looking all messy?

The reason he looks like that is in fact because of gender. He looks like a cockerel, and cockerels usually tend to mature rather slowly as compared to pullets. He should fill out nicely in a few more weeks, nothing at all wrong with him.

And Kris, those pullets are gorgeous. They both have GREAT type, as Craig said that is what a Cochin should look like. Very nice birds.
