Where can I submit pics? Or am I too late?
You would email them to Linda Tobia. If she has enough for this year already mention that she can keep them for use the following year..

my guess is you'd get black or some mixed up ?? (depends on what the white and black are hiding under the solid colors). and they would all be split for self blue. to get more self blue i would breed the black splits back to each other or a self blue.Hey all, what could i expect if i cross my self blue rooster with my two white hens and my two black hens? Would i get 25% self blue, 25% white/black, ans 50% "mixed"?
I view the above information as accurate. If the purpose of the outcross is to improve the self blue then her first advice of breeding 2 black splits together would be the fastest way to improve type.my guess is you'd get black or some mixed up ?? self blue is recessive, so it takes both parents carrying it to produce it in offspring. 2 splits bred together will give you 25% self blue, 25% black (not split) and 50% split. but you can't tell who carries it or not just by looking, so if possible, i would breed a split to a self blue, then you get 50/50 self blue and splits.
Carlton has started to roost! It's a miracle!![]()
He has slept on the ground up until 8 months old. He is officially a chicken and not a duck![]()

Thanks both. Neither of the two self blue have good cochin type. They are about 6 weeks old now and still in quarantine for another week. This week is the first week they are both without baby fuzz and have proper feathers. My plan is to breed them to my black cochins who are much typier, and get one more self blue pullet.I view the above information as accurate.
