Cochin Thread!!!

So my favorite blue is getting what I'm going to call, blonde streaks, on his neck. That's weird right? He's 15 weeks, could new colors come in at this point?
Same as my black, this guy came from a lady with a very diverse colored flock. She had at least four Roos, one being a lemon blue.

I'm going to the Ohio Nationals, woohoo! Very excited about getting some great mottleds to start my flock. Should also be a good chance for me to see what I should be striving for since any shows around here aren't as tough competition. I truly have an amazing husband who will take me 5 1/2 hours to a poultry show for one of our few vacations... Going to stay at a nice hotel and try to see Columbus a little while we are there. Anything we should see? Nothing sports or shopping related...

Ok, I feel extremely stupid asking this question but what color eggs do Cochin bantams really lay? Breed standard says brown but when I do a search on Google, I also find white eggs that are claimed to be Cochin eggs?
How much do the egg colors vary?

They are between an off white to light brown. Each of my hens lays a different shade. I have one bantam wyandotte in there and when I see a darker egg I know it is hers. No dumn questions can be asked. ;) :D

I'll never know which egg belongs to which hen because I have my Silkies and Cochins mixed together. But, I can at least try to solve the mystery of a long oval shaped white egg I found a couple of days ago. And today I found an off white egg with slight blood streaks on it. So I'm thinking my 6 month old blue Silkie or my 7 month old partridge Cochin has started laying. Or maybe both!

I like to tell all my riding students that there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers, when they tell me they have a stupid question.
