Hi, can you tell from day 1 if a chick will have the leg feathering required? Should the required toes on a chick already all show feathers?

at the least they should have fuzz down the middle toes, but whether the foot feathering will develop properly, there's no way to guarantee that.

If they dont have any fuzz on their feet and toes then they most likely wont be feather legged, if so probably very poorly.

Well, while we're all waiting for everyone to get home from Columbus and post some pics for us to drool over, I thought I'd post pics from today. These have all made my first cut:

Thanx Clare! As they are all out of the BLR project, they are just 3/4 GL, so I guess not too bad. The first two are the most promising for next spring breeding. They all have yellow feet/shanks. The last three get to stay for the time being because they're pullets!!

I got Danny's pics up on the CI website this morning - he sure is maturing into a handsome young man!!

Did you get your CI calendars? I'm sure he'll want one of his own!
